Amsterdam's artisan pizza bar for everyone: vegans, vegetarians, meat lovers - even pizza haters.

If you count yourself among Amsterdam’s vegans, you’ve probably had to sigh “I’ll have the goat cheese salad with bacon and yoghurt dressing, without the goat cheese, bacon, and yoghurt dressing” one too many times. We think that’s B.S.; capital B, capital S. That’s why, at Pizza Heart Bar, we place strong emphasis on vegan and vegetarian options on our menu. Take heart, carnivores: the menu's still got plenty of meat on the bone. So that’s that.

Another thing: we do think it’s our knightly duty to only use the freshest and best ingredients, and import all the good stuff from Italy. But highlighting this as our main quality is a bit, well, blah. Any artisan pizza bar worth it’s pizza dough should worship its ingredients. So we’ll tell you something else.

At Pizza Heart Bar, the pizzas have a secret. And that secret's in the dough. Through a special preparation process, all our pizzas are ‘ad alta digeribilità’, which is Italian for highly digestible. The key: the dough rises for 72 hours. If that ain’t slow cooking! The extended rising time means the dough needs very little yeast. The result: a hearty yet very light pizza crust.

If extra healthy is your cup of caffè, we also offer whole wheat pizzas and we’re busy developing the best dough for the gluten-intolerant as we speak. And if your preferred pizza is no pizza at all (that’s okay, we don’t judge), we’ve got plenty of antipasti, pastas and salads to satisfy your inner hungry caterpillar.
