Gallery Lilja Zakirova exists since 1996 and is located in a sixteenth-century building in Heusden on the Maas, an old stronghold in the south of the Netherlands.The gallery represents contemporary Russian artists and thus places itself in the time-old tradition of perpetuating the cultural relations between Russia and the West with it’s focus lying on New Media, Photography and post-modern painting and sculpture. Due to the many and intensive connections between the gallery and Russian museums and galleries, the contemporary developments in Russian art can be followed closely, meanwhile ensuring that Gallery Lilja Zakirova is a frontrunner in exhibiting Russian contemporary art which is more and more recognized and appreciated by collectors, art lovers and the international art world.

Galerie Lilja Zakirova bestaat sinds 1996 en bevindt zich in een 16e eeuws pand in Heusden aan de Maas, een oude vestingstad in het zuiden van Nederland. De galerie vertegenwoordigt hedendaagse kunstenaars uit Rusland en plaatst zichzelf daarmee in de eeuwenoude traditie van het bestendigen van de culturele banden tussen Rusland en het Westen. Hierbij ligt het accent op Nieuwe Media, Fotografie en postmoderne schilder- en beeldhouwkunst.
Het beleid van Galerie Lilja Zakirova wordt bepaald door een prikkelende aansluiting bij de tijdgeest als door duurzaamheid; dit gegeven wordt steeds vaker herkend en gewaardeerd door collectioneurs, het kunstminnend publiek en in de internationale kunstwereld.
